Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using AquaLock. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. About AquaLock
AquaLock is a hydration tracking app that helps you meet daily water intake goals. Features include water logging, AI-assisted photo verification, push notification reminders, streaks, and app locking via iOS Screen Time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use AquaLock. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement. We reserve the right to terminate accounts we believe belong to users under 16.
3. Your account
- You sign in via Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your Apple ID or Google account secure.
- You must provide accurate information when setting up your profile.
- You may not share your account or create accounts on behalf of others.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
4. Subscription & payment
AquaLock is a paid app. Access to the app requires an active AquaLock Pro subscription. There is no free tier.
Plans
AquaLock Pro is available as a weekly or annual subscription on iOS, processed through the Apple App Store.
Billing
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings.
Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple in accordance with their refund policy.
5. App locking feature
The app locking feature uses iOS Family Controls to restrict access to apps you select until your daily hydration goal is met.
- You must explicitly grant Family Controls authorisation to use this feature.
- You can revoke this authorisation at any time in iOS Settings > Screen Time.
- AquaLock is not responsible for any consequences of app access being restricted, including missed messages, notifications, or work tasks.
- App locking is a voluntary self-control tool. It is your responsibility to ensure your locking settings are appropriate for your circumstances.
6. AI photo verification
The photo verification feature uses OpenAI's API to assess whether a submitted photo contains water. By submitting a photo:
- You grant us a limited licence to transmit the image to OpenAI for processing. The image is not stored by us beyond what is needed to display it in your log history.
- You must not submit photos containing sensitive, private, or illegal content.
- AI verification is probabilistic and may occasionally be inaccurate. It is not a substitute for accurate manual logging.
7. Health disclaimer
AquaLock is a wellness tool designed to encourage healthy hydration habits. It is NOT a medical device and does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Water goals are estimates based on general population data.
Do not rely solely on AquaLock for health decisions. Consult a qualified healthcare professional if you have medical conditions, are pregnant, or have specific hydration needs.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app
- Submit false hydration data to circumvent the app lock
- Upload illegal, explicit, or harmful content via photo verification
- Circumvent subscription checks or access Pro features without a valid active subscription
- Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the app or our backend
9. Intellectual property
All content, designs, logos, and code in AquaLock are owned by or licensed to us. Your use of the app does not grant you any rights to our intellectual property. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion, with or without notice.
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app.
11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR UNINTERRUPTED SERVICE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF ACCESS TO OTHER APPS DUE TO APP LOCKING, OR RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED VERIFICATION RESULTS.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR YOUR SUBSCRIPTION IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
